A lot of people would say that their favourite time of year is their birthday. Just a quick question that I have to ask... why? You become the centre of attention which is nearly always a bad thing, you end up feeling ill from eating too much, no one else can celebrate properly because it's not their birthday and then comes the worst of all horrors... you get a year older. For someone who wants to be like Peter Pan [aka me] minus the hideous tights, birthdays aren't exactly horrible but are usually quite embarrassing.
So what about Halloween? Personally, I always wanted my birthday to be on Halloween for the drama of it. Everyone secretly loves Halloween whether they'll admit it or not. The 31st October actually seems to get darker! And then there's the Trick or Treat spectacle. Up until last year I'd never actually been 'Trick or Treat'ing and then because I had my little sister with me everyone gave her sweets instead. 15-year-olds want sweet too! Well as much as I love Halloween, I never get sweets and my birthday happened to arrive on the 9th October instead. [But October blatantly is the best month of the year].
And that leaves us with Christmas. I have noticed that the actual Christmas day vanishes as soon as it begins and the best part is always that one month long build up to it where people start 'crazy shopping' and put up their tree and decorations. Then there's the advent calendars which basically give you an excuse to eat chocolate every day. However, because I'm not actually religious at all, I don't think I can truly appreciate Christmas for what it was intended to be... I just like the commercial side to it. [No offense to people who celebrate Jesus].
I haven't really learnt anything from this blog. I don't have a favourite day of the year. I like to enjoy all 365.
Hello and pleased to meet you.

I like Christmas 1) for the frantic shopping that starts in November, 2) the togetherness and warmth and joy it brings to everyone, and 3) the feeling of finding the perfect gift.
ReplyDeleteBut trick-or-treating is pretty damn fun.
So are fireworks. I'm undecided as well.
Haha, thanks. Sorry...didn't mean to diss you or anything. My legs are kinda pudgy, is all :( lol.
ReplyDeleteHaha, okay. By the way, your review blog is tres awesome. Do you like Linkin Park? You should listen to them.
ReplyDeleteIn case my rather discreet hint persuades you to check them out, their best songs are New Divide, Pts. of. Athrty, Don't Stay, By Myself, Hit the Floor, Faint, and Numb. Those are just the best. Lol.
I actually don't really like the three other songs I have from them, but Good Girls Go Bad is, like, the best. Their best, to be specific.
ReplyDeletePssht. I don't get albums, I get iPods! Well, gift cards, but still. I'll youtube it.
I LOVE LINKIN PARK!!!!!! Every single one of their songs is amazing except for Shadow of the Day and The Little Things Give You Away (sorry). I heard Somewhere I Belong with the rest of the songs, but I never bought it...
Ooh, like on a newspaper or something? Well, you're very good at it. :D
I don't know, there's just something flat about a lot of their songs.
ReplyDeleteOkay, this is WEIRD. I closed out of iTunes but it kept playing, and it won't let me open iTunes again, so I'm stuck listening to MICHAEL CRAWFORD sing DISNEY SONGS. Ugh. Methinks I will restart the computer.
My iPod is the greatest :) I have a Nano 4th generation (I think) and it's da bomb dizzle, foo.
Me too! But they're so freaking awesome, it's not even funny. Well, it's ironic (that they're all nearing 30), but not funny.
Eh. They're okay. But if you like them...
Rocksound? I'm guessing that's a magazine across the pond, lol. Obviously. Well, good luck!
